I'm once again smacked in the face with a Balmain sandal, spotted over at Jake and Jill site. It's just not fair Balmain is so far out of my price range. I didn't even look up the price on these but I already know anything by Balmain has a very pricey tag on it.

Vintage 4 Buckle Boot

Don't these buckle wedge sandals rock? I love them! Saw them on Jack and Jill blog.

My oldest boot in my closet and though I was fond of it way back 15 years ago, I've got much to complain about it now. I guess our taste does change over the years, what I don't like about this boot is the 2 inch wedge, do they even make many shoes with a 2 inch wedge? I'm not digging the square toe either. I noticed these expensive sandals resembling the buckle so I guess it is a trend that has transcended into a sandal. I'd still wear these but I have far more attractive boots in my closet. I haven't any idea who makes it as the brand name in the shoe is not visible. I'm pretty sure this was a Victoria's Secret catalogue purchase.

Which leaves me to this question, at what point do you send a shoe on it's way? Deliver it to the Rescue Mission or dump it in the trash? I know sandals go quickly, I don't like the foot imprint that appears on sandals after little use.
I had a pair of converse looking sneakers that had a nice 4 inch wedge on them, they were by Guess I loved them so much I wore the crap out of them. The wedge lost it's balance. When I put them in the Goodwill box, I pulled them out several times. Finally, I had to remind myself just how awful they look now. Now I'm seeing all these brands doing the wedge on a sneaker, I got rid of mine 2 years ago.

Nine West Riding Boot

These are by Nine West, I got them the year I got pregnant in 2006, I remember wondering how much longer did I have to wear them before my feet swelled up. They remind me of the riding boot, I love the buckle detail on this boot as well as the dark saddle back color on them. The quality of leather is soft. These were a winter clearance item and I was lucky enough to get them less than $60. I'm a deal shopper, I feel cheated when I pay full price for anything, unless it is a beautiful boot would I be willing to make the sacrifice of paying full price but never for a sandal or mediocre shoe. I was skeptical at first, the heel height on these is 2 inches, I'm not a fan of flat shoes and even 2 inch shoes gives me second thoughts. I love height, I love the way my legs look in shoes with height. If I had long thin legs I would give flat shoes a chance but I'm 5'5 and my legs are not long.

One of the great features on the Nine West shoes is how they make them to fit slender feet like a glove. I don't own any pair by this brand that fit me loose or big, definitely not a brand made for wide feet or legs.

Boutique Shoez

I got these at Shoez boutique at least 3 years ago. I haven't bought a sandal in over 2 years, because of my pregnancy and because it's difficult to shop with a two year old. I saw this boutique go up a few miles from my house and I wanted to check it out. Her store was just full of really unique off the wall shoes, imported from France. Expensive though but I remember seeing these on her sale rack and thought I'd give the price tag a glimpse. I was lucky to snatch them at a deal.

My daughter is going to be so lucky when I pass my collection of shoes on to her which will be really cute vintage shoes by the time she gets them. The goodwill will get my worn out shoes but my daughter will get all my babies. I remember when my mom passed some of her boots down to me from the 70's, so freaking cool. Unfortunately I wasn't smart enough to take very good care of them, I destroyed them by wearing them in rain and mud. Till this day I could kick myself for not taking good care of them. I use to get so many compliments on them.
